Once upon a time, we began sharing stories. Stories about where to find food and avoid danger. Stories of life and love, Gods and nature. Stories around fires, across tables, through forests, and across plains. Then we started to depict these stories in drawings and craft. As language developed, we started to solidify our stories on paper and stone. Eventually, technology was developed such that we could capture our stories in a single photographic moment. And finally, these still frames were strung together and film was born.
Similarly, the advent of music evolved as we did. Music aided in the telling of stories, allowed us to connect with one another and resonate on the deepest of emotional and spiritual levels.
Stories and rhythm connect to some of the most primal tenets of being Human. They are deeply aligned with our ability to learn, remember, and make sense of reality.
"If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration" - Nikola Tesla
Captivated in our imaginations, we stand on the shoulders of those who have come before us; their revelations, lessons, knowledge and stories. More people will have an idea of what republic and empire are because of Star Wars than having read Plato's 'Republic'. More people will be able to reference some of the characteristics of a psychopath having watched Silence of the Lambs without knowing what the DSM-5 is.
Film and Music have become special medium for influencing and developing consciousness.
However, as with any tool, the product is subject to the user.
As you might expect, the WCH Film and Music complications would be excessively large for this website. Fortunately, we live in a dope age where some fabulous folk created some technology to share film and music.
Every word written for a reason;
Each scene set to stir the subconscious;
Each beat bumped to bring on a feeling;
May you find meaning from the chaos.
